stories without a point, pointed sticks, jokes without punchlines, sputtering angry outbursts, ephemeral whatnots, wispy thoughts, sad regrets, dreams of spring, nostalgia for childhood lost, nosy neighbors, noisy neighbors, what the neighbors left behind when they moved, whiskers on kittens, stuff that was stolen, art that was found, misty water colored memories of the way things were, raindrops on eyelashes, foreign body lodged in lower eyelid, cluttered bookshelves, cabinet of curiosities

Blurriness from taxi window on the way to airport
Fast/slow ride leaving Cozumel.
Dreamy creatures.
Lining parade path.
Setting the mood.
Flying fish.
Will there be an all Michael Jackson float this year?
Goodbye.
Blue skies.
Iguanas.
All iguanas.
Red shirt, red helmet.
Goodbye armadillo.
Blue horizon.
Blue nose.
Blue wings.
Blue beak.
Goodbye Carnaval.

patchwork quilts and other alley finds
Today is May 1, May Day, day of protests all over the world, and locally, a big moving day with people shedding their unloved possesions into alleys across the city.
On my way to work, I found 2 small patchwork lap quilts backed with flannel in a nearby alley. I was so happy, the piecework in front seens to be vibrant shades in polyester. I am in love with the colors and patterns of 1970s polyester without loving the feel of polyester itself. Love/hate kinda like movie stars that might attract and repel and marry and divorce each other repeatedly. Oh polyester, you are so cool and mod and styling, just don't brush against my bare skin, no don't touch me, stop it! Gah! The good thing about quilts of course is they can be hung on wall as art to be enjoyed without touching. No temptation there.
Yesterday, in another alley, I got a wood and plastic drying rack excellent for socks and such, slightly broken, nothing some string can't fix. Also found a rectangular basket with 12 partitions. Boxes within boxes. Irresistable. Love any kind of box, a subdivided enclosure makes it all the more appealing.
Question for you, how did you happen upon here? No need for the person who googled panties, azz, and nylon to chime in. Other question, what did you find today?

Cozumel paintbox
One of my favorite hues of one of my favorite colors. Haven't found this blue as a paint color yet.
I thought that Benjamin Moore's Blue Lapiz would be it, but it's looking smurfy to me beaming happily off our furniture. I want deeper, bluer. In general I'd like to gray down the colors on our walls OR make everything blue and dark. I get frustrated thinking I found a suitable dullish color and it turns out to be overly bright or pastel/Easter eggish.
A highly satisfactory choice was the Benjamin Moore Historical color 114, a perfect blue, gray, green that turned our small kitchen into a soft, lovely jewel box.
Perfect magenta. Used on baseboards and kitchen trim in former apartment.
Yummy with a dark teal.
The sharp scarlet contrasts beautifully with the olive green bark.
Had to look everytime.
Big hair, baby.
Enormous leaves in understory in center courtyard.
Philodendron? rising 3 stories. Love seeing plants max out.
Leaves lit bright green by the sun.
Can't remember the movie title, Farrah Fawcett's character lived in an all blue interior, at least the living room was. I found it memorable, even if the blues seemed overly sharp and glaring.
Does anyone remember the title?
The other movie that I got stuck on for its blue and brown interiors was
the Incubus with John Cassavettes (horror movie from the 1970s).

I see Paris
At least 2 ocassions recently I really wished I had a camera along:
I was walking along in a friend's green, leafy neighborhood and saw small bits of laundry draped across a neighbor's porch railing including purple undies turned inside out. The element of surprise made me laugh.
Late afternoon at work today, I passed by a coworker's office, a drawer was pulled open and on the edge were hanging a sports bra, shorts, and other pieces of workout clothes to air over the weekend. Ha, home away from home.
Many years ago, as a child, when I was visiting relatives, I was surprised when their upstairs neighbor came down to ask my uncle a question wearing a bra and half slip. I had never seen a stranger quite so undressed. Very puzzling. While it was a warm summer day other people wore outer wear over their underwear. My aunt seemed quite angry, her face drained of color.
