Kind of sounds like she meant it as a bad thing! Oh, these kids!
hee hee,
her tone was quite sincere, she almost surprised herself, I think,
other times she told me I was a "bad cooker"
Hello, Tess. Just found your comment on my blog from back in September. No idea how I lost my comments but it's been over two years since I knew I had any. Just now catching up!
Funny how your daughter defines motherhood. Domestic skills are seriously under-rated and I think that is a mistake. If we were all a bit better at this I think our bodies and our pocketbooks would be much healthier.
Looking forward to browsing some more here. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Hello, Shelley,
In high school in the late 1970s, I loved browsing through 1940s domestic arts books. Fascinating to read about cheese making with rennet, choosing the color of your dress to bring out your eyes, etc. I found bread baking magical. I don't think sewing or cooking are taught in school any more and that's a shame.
I very much like your family history and travel stories.
Thank you for visiting.
